Description

A simple introduction to GSM and data networking and how voice and data is carried on mobile service provider networks

This training course is designed to introduce the world of mobile telecommunications and data networking technologies. It is aims to familiarise the non-technical person with an understanding of the various technologies that are used to build the network infrastructure of the modern mobile telecoms service provider. The course will take a big-picture approach, showing the course delegate how the various technologies are used to deliver the services and product offerings of the mobile service provider.

The course presents information in simple, easy to understand language that enables you to make sense of technical concepts, details and many acronyms. The course is designed as an overview and so you will not be bombarded with over theoretical and superfluous information.

What you will learn

Communication Basics
  • What bandwidth is and practical implications of bandwidth in networks
  • What the different types of media are and how information is sent across them
  • What multiplexing means and how it is used to increase network capacity and efficiency
  • What coding techniques are used for and briefly how they work
  • What technologies are used to create long distance transmission systems
  • The fundamental difference between voice and data communication and networks
Telecommunications / GSM Basics
